Description: 83,000 square miles. Situated on the NE coast of South America and roughly the size of Great Britain. Despite its vast expanse, most of the population lives on or near the coast. Interior remains largely undeveloped and densely forested. Abundant in rivers and waterfalls (the Kaiteur Falls are five times as tall as Niagara) there are also empty savannahs, mountains, Amer-Indian trade-posts and villages, and wildlife of both the slithery and sharp-toothed variety. The main rivers include the Berbice, Essequibo and Demerara. At the mouth of the Demerara is Georgetown, a bustling city of wide avenues, canals and original wooden buildings.
